Office Locations
Configure office locations for geofence-based attendance verification.
What Are Office Locations?
Office locations define the physical boundaries where employees can check in. When geofencing is enabled, the system verifies that an employee is within an approved location before accepting their check-in.
Viewing Locations
- Go to Administration → Office Locations
- See all configured locations with coordinates and radius
Adding a Location
- Click Add Location
- Configure the location:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | Location name (e.g., "Main Office") |
| Address | No | Street address for reference |
| Latitude | Yes | GPS latitude coordinate |
| Longitude | Yes | GPS longitude coordinate |
| Radius | Yes | Geofence radius in meters (e.g., 200) |
| Active | Yes | Enable/disable this location |
- Click Save
Setting Coordinates
Using the Map
If available, click on the interactive map to set the location pin. The latitude and longitude fill automatically.
Manual Entry
Enter GPS coordinates directly. You can find coordinates by:
- Opening Google Maps
- Right-clicking the location
- Copying the coordinates (e.g., 25.276987, 55.296249)
Radius Guidelines
| Scenario | Suggested Radius |
|---|---|
| Single building | 100–200 meters |
| Office campus | 300–500 meters |
| Industrial zone | 500–1000 meters |
| Remote/field work | 1000+ meters |
Start with a larger radius and reduce it once you've confirmed GPS accuracy for your area. Building materials and urban environments can affect GPS precision.
How Geofencing Works
- Employee opens the mobile app and taps Check In
- App reads the device's GPS location
- System calculates distance from the nearest configured office location
- If within the radius → Check-in accepted
- If outside all locations → Check-in denied or flagged (depending on configuration)
Multiple Locations
Organizations with multiple offices can add all locations. An employee's check-in is validated against any active location — they don't need to be assigned to a specific one.
Editing & Deleting
- Edit — Update name, coordinates, or radius at any time
- Delete — Remove a location (historical check-in records are preserved)
