Multi-Stage Approval Workflows
If your organization has configured workflows, requests may go through multiple approval stages:
Sequential Workflows
Approvers act one after another in order:
- Stage 1 (e.g., Direct Manager) reviews first
- Once approved, Stage 2 (e.g., HR) receives the request
- Continues until all stages are complete
Parallel Workflows
All approvers at all stages can act simultaneously. The request is approved when all required stages have at least one approval.
Workflow Progress
- A progress indicator shows the current stage
- Each stage shows the approver(s) and their decision
- Green = Approved, Red = Rejected, Yellow = Pending
Approval Filtering
Filter the approvals list by status:
| Filter | Shows |
|---|---|
| All | All requests you can review |
| Pending | Awaiting your action |
| Approved | Previously approved by you |
| Rejected | Previously rejected by you |
| In Review | Currently being reviewed in the workflow |
Escalation
If configured, overdue approvals may be automatically:
- Escalated to the next level
- Auto-approved after a deadline
- Flagged for attention
